PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coolant cleaning device adopting a new method for processing floatation chips floated in the center part of a vortex, in a circular coolant tank constituting the coolant cleaning device for generating the vortex in a coolant. SOLUTION: A circular coolant tank 14 of cylindrical shape constitutes a coolant cleaning device for generating a vortex 27 in a coolant containing chips or abrasive grains or the like flowing out from a machine tool for performing cutting or grinding, and the coolant is jetted from an upper part of the stored liquid coolant in the circular coolant tank 14 toward the center part of the vortex 27 generated in the coolant in the circular coolant tank 14.
