PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium, which solves the problem that sensitivity is insufficient and high linear speed recording is impossible when a punch recording system is adopted for a write-once recording medium, which is developed for averting the high production cost of a well-known additional writing type optical recording medium such as CD-R, DVD-R or the like as the optical recording medium. SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium, in which an optical change is developed in a recording layer by the irradiation of energy beams so as to make information to be recorded and regenerated, the recording layer 2 includes a low melting point material consisting of Te, Bi, Zn, In, Sb, Pb, Sn or their compounds and an iodide, especially the preferable low melting point material is Te and the preferable iodide is BeI2 , IIn, I2 Pb, I2 Sn, I3 Pb, ITl, I3 P, I4 Si, I4 Sn or I4 Ti. |
