PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apatite-coated metallic material which is decreased in porosity and improved in adhesiveness as an implant material having compatibility of an improved surface with a biological system. SOLUTION: The novel apatite-coated metallic material having the improved surface quality and biocompatibility, the method of manufacturing for the same and the use of the material described above for osteoimplants, more preferably dental implants, artificial joints and fixing materials (bone synthesizing materials) for accident surgery, in which the coating in this case consists of hydroxyapatite crystals and/or a thick coating of spherical bodies of amorphous calcium phosphate sphere having a specific surface area of <15 m<2> /g. |
