PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a simultaneously biaxially stretched film having a uniformity and excellent quality stability by suppressing a distortion in a widthwise direction of an areal rate trace brought about by a simultaneously biaxially stretching method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the simultaneously biaxially stretched film by a tenter process comprises the steps of laterally and longitudinally simultaneously biaxially stretching an unstretched film by grasping ends of the unstretched film by clips, and preceding a start point and an end point of a longitudinal stretch ratio trace from a start point and an end point of a lateral stretch ratio trace.
