PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treatment by which treatment or prophylaxis of tissue damage caused by ischemia is carried out in a mammal. SOLUTION: This method for treatment comprises administering an effective amount of a compound represented by the formula I [wherein, R<1> , R<2> , X and Y are each as defined in the specification] or a prodrug of the compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the compound or the prodrug to the mammal requiring the treatment or prophylaxis of the tissue damage caused by the ischemia.
