PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid manual cutting work so as to completely perform automatic line work by cutting edge cloth and edge lower paper respectively to a designated length by one cutting operation in processing the edge cloth and the edge lower part sewn flat to the edge of a tatami. SOLUTION: This end processing apparatus for a tatami edge material is provided with a clamping means 30 for clamping the wide edge cloth 2 and the narrow edge lower paper 3 superposed and sewn along the side edge part of the tatami 1, a driving means 40 for operating the clamping means 30 to let out only the edge cloth 2 and a cutting means 50 for cutting the edge cloth 2 and the edge lower paper 3. The edge cloth 2 and the edge lower paper 3 are cut with the cloth 2 being drawn longer than the paper 3.
