PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a print system in which the volume of data being transferred from a host unit to a printer is reduced and a user can attain normal printing results by performing printing by only one operation. SOLUTION: The intermediate code data generating section 5 of a host unit 1 generates print data in PDL code format which is transmitted to a printer 9 where the intermediate code data processing section 12 converts the received PDL code data into image code data. When the printer 9 is converting the PDL data into image code data, the image code data generating section 6 of the host unit 1 also converts the PDL code data into image code data. Upon occurrence of an error in the conversion processing of the printer 9, image code data developed into image on the host unit 1 side is retransmitted to the printer 9. |
