A shielding wall for interposition between the core A of a gas-cooled reactor and heatexchangers B comprises a number of graphite cylinders 1 arranged side-by-side on a support grid 2. Two helicoidal grooves 3 on each cylinder 1 provide passages for the gas flow, these grooves opening on to holes 4 in the grid 2. The spaces between adjacent cylinders 1 are filled with longitudinally extending iron bars (5) (Figs. 2, 3, not shown) having the same cross-section as the spaces. |
