The use of neurotrophin-3 (NT3) expression system for the preparation of pharmaceutical composition to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) by intravenous administration. .The expression system expresses consists of two expression cassettes, one coding for NT3 and the other coding for a different neurotrophic factor, chosen from GDNF, CNTF and BDNF. Both expression cassettes are under the control of a unique transcriptional promoter (bicistronic unit).
