The pipe (1), made from a supple synthetic material, is reinforced with a sleeve (2) of a knitted filament between its inner (1A) and outer (1B) layers. The sleeve, produced e.g. by a warp knitting machine located at the outlet of an extruder, is made with rows of stitches (2A, 2B) inclined alternately in opposite directions.
