PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately decide deterioration and the life time of a photoreceptor drum by detecting the change of the electrical characteristics of a photoreceptor drum, and also to keep image quality constant and to prevent the image quality from deteriorating, by appropriately controlling electrification and exposure, corresponding to the change of the electrical characteristics of the photoreceptor drum. SOLUTION: This imaging device is provided with an imaging part equipped with an electrostatic latent image carrier and an electrifying part for electrifying the electrostatic latent image carrier, and a detecting means for detecting a current flowing via the electrostatic latent image carrier, while making the electrifying part electrify the electrostatic latent image carrier. Then, the defect in the electrostatic latent image carrier is decided based on a value detected by the detection means and a specified value set previously. |
