PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a high-quality image by preventing the faulty separation of paper, regardless of the moisture absorption state of the paper and operational environment. SOLUTION: A destaticizing needle 40 is provided in non-contact manner with recording material in the vicinity of the downstream side (paper transparent direction) of a transfer roller 31, and destaticizing bias is applied from a high voltage power source 42. When the moisture absorption amount of the paper is large, a current flows to the needle 40 from the roller 31 through the paper P. The current value is measured by an ammeter 41, and a destaticizing bias control means 43 controls voltage applied to the needle 40, according to the measured current value. |
