<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for creating/using an address book to dispense with the address book such as business cards and by which addresses of other persons and other companies are learned anywhere and a web server to be devoted to them. SOLUTION: The system for creating/using the address book is provided with an information terminal 11 having a reading means 23 to read character information of the business card as image information, to transmit the image information and information of a creator of the address book, who desires creation of the address book by using the business card, character recognition means 56, 64 to receive the image information via a communication network and to recognize data to be required for creation of the address book as character data in relation to the addresses from the image information, a data base 53 to store the character data in relation to the addresses recognized by the character recognition means 56, 64 by associating it with the creator of the address book and a web server 16 connected with the Internet network to enable generation of the respective address books for a plurality of creators of the address books as web pages by using the data base 53 and to enable access to an address book exclusive for a user from a plurality of the creators of the address books.</p> |
