PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data broadcast reception system having a data broadcast receiver, by which a user can recognize that the data broadcast receiver is normally operated, even when display processing of new data menu takes a long time. SOLUTION: The user operates a remote commander to issue a data menu display command signal and a CPU detects the data menu display command signal, via an I/O section and a system bus in the data broadcast receiver, to start data reception operations shown in the following. In this case, user notice processing for informing the user about the acceptance of the data menu display command signal is executed in a step S1. As user notice processing can be cited, for example, an LED provided to the front panel of the data broadcast receiver and lighting the LED allows the user, to make visual recognition of the acceptance of the data menu display command signal.
