PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a re-speech system and method for making a re-speech to a destination by using a public telephone or the like without the need for storing a destination telephone number on the occurrence of a speech termination due to a worn battery of a portable terminal caused during a speech. SOLUTION: When a worn battery takes place in a portable terminal 10, a possessor of the portable terminal 10 uses a nearby public telephone 11 to enter the telephone number of the portable terminal 10 and its own password for making a re-connection request. A switch 32 receives the telephone number of the portable terminal 10 and the password obtained from the public phone 11 as the re-connection request, inquires of a server 33 about a connection destination telephone number of the terminated call, the server 33 reads the stored connection destination telephone number (a telephone number of a mobile terminal 20), transmits the read connection destination telephone number to the switch 32, and the switch 32 transmits a connection request to a switch 22 via a PSTN 4 on the basis of the connection destination telephone number received from the server 33.
