PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slow video mode for use in a digital still camera. SOLUTION: Image data is acquired by a digital still camera 100 at a slow video speed. A slow video data stream is at a sufficiently low speed so that a memory at a relatively low speed can be utilized for storing on the fly in the slow video data stream. The image data is stored at the slow video data speed, and simultaneously audio data 304 is stored. Thus, images gathered in a slow video mode are accompanied. A synchronizing marker 306 is stored along with the audio data 304, and each synchronizing marker 306 is associated with a single frame of the stored video data. When the audio data 304 is reproduced, if encountering the synchroning marker 306, each corresponding video frame is taken out and displayed.
