PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rectifying circuit which has improved power factor without causing increase in loss. SOLUTION: This rectifying circuit comprises a first reactor, connected in series between one terminal of an AC power supply and a first input terminal of a bridge circuit and between the other terminal of the AC power supply and a second input terminal of the bridge circuit, a first switching element connected in parallel between the first input terminal of the bridge circuit and a first output terminal of the bridge circuit, a second switching element connected in parallel between a second input terminal of the bridge circuit and a second output terminal of the bridge circuit, a first capacitor connected in parallel to the first switching element, a second reactor connected in series to the first switching element, a second capacitor connected in parallel to the second switching element, a third reactor connected in series to the second switching element, and a control means for controlling ON/OFF-states of the first and second switching elements.
