PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head, in which sure reproduction of the digital information recorded with high density is attainable, by preventing the inflow of a signal magnetic fluxes from other magnetic recording media. SOLUTION: This magnetic head A converts the signal magnetic flux from the magnetic recording medium to an electrical signal and has such a feature that a magnetic circuit is composed of a 1st yoke 1 and a 2nd yoke 2 which are magnetic materials formed with front parts 1a, 2a forming a reproduction gap 5 therein for detecting the signal magnetic flux from the specific magnetic recording medium B in the manner of laying over each other through a non- magnetic film and rear parts 1b, 2b arranged by keeping the space in the horizontal direction each other, and a TMR element 3 (magneto-resistance effect element) disposed on the space in the horizontal direction between the rear part 1b of the 1st yoke 1 and the rear part 2b of the 2nd yoke 2, and further shield films S are arranged in the magnetic circuit for shielding the signal magnetic fluxes D from the other magnetic recording media.
