PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image monitor wherein a moving object can be recorded more surely and an appearing place, the state of appearance, a disappearing place and the state of disappearance of the moving object can be recorded. SOLUTION: An image in a monitor region is picked up, and the picked-up image is stored in an image storing means. When it is judged that a moving object exists in the monitor region, images from a prescribed time before the judging time are read from the image storing means, and recording of the images is started to an image recording means which can record image data digitally.
