PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication system, capable of freely changing the type of a portable telephone by a user and further easily lending or borrowing the telephone. SOLUTION: When the type of a terminal equipment is changed, user's name and password of the user, using the terminal equipment A11, are transmitted to a managing server 4 via a base station 2 and an exchange 3. Meanwhile, an information processing unit 41 changes a terminal equipment information table stored in a user information table and terminal equipment information data base 43 stored in a user information database 42 based on a user name transmitted from the terminal A11 and a terminal ID of the terminal equipment 1. When the exchange 3 connects a telephone channel, the unit 41 controls the connection of the telephone channel based on correspondence of the user name and the terminal ID stored in the database 42.
