A tracked robot carriage (6) is placed in the pipeline, via a manhole (4). The robot is drawn along the pipeline by a cable (8) attached to a drive mechanism (10) on a road vehicle (9) on the surface (3). As the robot passes over the cable (2) to be protected, the resin mixture (5) is spread via a pipe (11) and mouthpiece (12). The resin sets and protects the cable from damage by rodents or aggressive liquids.
