PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which automatically read information printed on an advance note or a check without manual work. SOLUTION: An advance notes information input supporting device is provided with a reader 2 for reading magnetic ink characters printed on the advance note or the check and a means for sorting information of the magnetic ink characters read by the reader 2 for each kind and outputting it as computer- readable data. This device has a means for recognizing information inserted between prescribed symbols expressing start and finish as the issuing office code of the advance notes from the information of the magnetic ink characters read by the reader 2, a means for extracting the printing format of each kind of information of the magnetic ink character at the issuing office stored in a storage means 5 in advance based on the recognized issuing office code, and a means for sorting information except for the note issuing office code for each kind of information corresponding to the extracted printing format and outputting it. |
