PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric rolling stock system which enables extension drive into a DC section, without accompanying the circuit change of an electric rolling stock for AC and can increase the power run torque and regenerative torque at a high-speed regions, and which is equipped with a voltage control circuit which can be shared in both sections of a DC feeder section and an AC feeder section. SOLUTION: This electric rolling stock system is equipped with a PAM control system of step-up/step-down main circuit 20 composed of a step-up/ step-down chopper 12 for controlling DC voltage and an inverter 13, a group of main motors 14 which gives motor torque, according to the voltage from the inverter 13, a brake input part 16, and a controller 17 which controls the PAM control system of step-up/step-down main circuit 20 based on a patternμof braking force corresponding to velocity, and the step-up/step-down chopper 12 is constituted of a four-phenomena reversible chopper composed of four gate circuits 12a, or a two-parallel and two-phenomena DC reversible chopper.
