PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device, capable of surely preventing toner from being fused on a body to be electrified and reducing excessive toner consumption and soiling inside a device body. SOLUTION: This imaging device, equipped with a contact-type charging device for charging the surface of a photoreceptor (body to be electrified) 1 while making an charging roller (electrifying member) 2 to which DC electric field is superposed on AC electric field and applied abut on the photoreceptor 1, is provided with a temperature sensor (temperature detecting means) 20 for detecting the temperature in the vicinity of the photoreceptor 1 and a thickness detection means for detecting the thickness of the photoreceptor 1. Then, the amount of developer, adhering to the photoreceptor 1 at image non-forming time is controlled according, to the temperature detected by the sensor 20 and the thickness of the photoreceptor 1 detected by the thickness detection means. |
