<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimizing path setting method that can make route investigation and network design in a short time even in the case of a large scale transmission network and to provide a network management system adopting the method. SOLUTION: A designated route is retrieved in the unit of sub-networks by sequentially tracing data of each network resource and related data between the network resources from one end point to other end point according to selection elements of the designated route, obtained route candidates are stored in a dynamic routing table, the route candidates stored in the dynamic routing table are selected in the order determined on the basis of the selection elements of the route, the route candidate is retrieved in the unit of network elements in each sub network of the selected route candidate to set an optimum path. Thus, even in the case of a large scale transmission network, route investigation and network design can be executed in a short time, a maintenance time attended with revision in the network configuration can be reduced and the installation cost can be reduced without need for reserving in advance a bypass route.</p> |
