PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network control method for preventing sound quality from deteriorating by minimizing the number of compression and expansion to be made in the compression trunk of each multiplexer and for effectively utilizing a high-speed digital line, in a network control method consisting of a plurality of electronic exchangers and multiplexers. SOLUTION: The network to which the plurality of electronic exchangers 11-13 are connected via the plurality of multiplexers 21 comprises a procedure (step S9) for outputting a transmission signal, to both the arrival signal multiplexers 22 and 23 where the electronic exchangers 12 are connected in tandem, a procedure (step S13) for releasing own compression trunks 22b and 23b captured by the multiplexer that has received the transmission signal, and a procedure (step S19) for connecting the multiplexers 21 and 24 and compression trunks 21b and 24b at both the end sides of arrival and transmission signals other than the multiplexer, that has released the compression trunk.
