FIELD: machine engineering, namely machines and apparatuses with moving parts operating in mode of gas lubrication. SUBSTANCE: gasostatic bearing includes housing and chamber communicated with supply line and with insert mounted inside bearing body. Bearing insert consists of parts made of gas impermeable and porous materials. Round inserts of porous material are arranged by two rows. Spacing between rows of inserts consists 0.5-0.7 of bearing length. Each insert of one row (beginning from first one) is placed between adjacent inserts of other row and it is spaced from said inserts by the same distance. Diameter of each insert is equal to 0.15-0.20 of bearing diameter. Quantity of inserts is 8 - 10. Used porous material represents heat treated sapwood part of wood material. EFFECT: enhanced operational efficiency of gasostatic bearing assembly. 2 dwg
