PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device with which the problems of the vibrations and noise occurring in the high-speed rotation of an optical disk can be solved by simple and small constitution and which has a drawer type loading mechanism. SOLUTION: A spindle mechanism section 20 and a traverse mechanism section 30 are constituted as separate bodies. The spindle mechanism section 20 assumes a posture of retreat so as not to interfere with a tray 40 and the optical disk during loading/unloading of the optical disk.
