PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a redundancy operation device in which a relieving rate in redundancy operation can be improved. SOLUTION: A redundancy operation device 3 performing fail relieving operation of a memory device 5 to be tested is provided with a first verifying means verifying whether already allotted spare device can be replaced by a not yet used spare device of reverse direction or not when not yet relieved fail and a not yet used spare device are left after a spare device is allotted to fail, and a first replacing means replacing an already allotted spare device by a not yet used spare device of a reverse direction when the first verifying means verifies that an already allotted spare device can be replaced by a not yet used spare device of a reverse direction, and allotting a spare device released by this replacement to not yet relieved fail.
