PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a distance between a light-emitting element and the plane of incidence of a light guide plate for increasing the angle of incidence and an amount of light guided to the light guide plate from the light-emitting element at the same time, so as to improve a liquid crystal display screen in luminance, when a light-emitting diode is used as a light source for a backlight of a liquid crystal display screen. SOLUTION: A light-emitting diode 21 is equipped with a base board 22, where a first electrode 23 and a second electrode 24 have been formed, a light- emitting element 25 installed on the first electrode 23, and a resin sealer 27 covering the light-emitting element 25. The light-emitting element 25 is installed on the first electrode 23 through the intermediary of a spacer 28. |
