<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate dot errors and improve picture quality without needing additional data, when an image signal is transmitted effectively by using vicinity image correlation. SOLUTION: Different differential tables are stored in differential vector tables 7a-7d. A trigger producing part 16 produces a trigger on the basis of a scanning signal s and a vector v from a candidate estimating part 8. As the trigger, one or combination of at least two from (1. status around picture elements, 2. status of scanning, 3. the number of times of being a candidate, 4. history of scanning and 5. position of picture element data in a color space) is used. A table selecting part 17 selects one differential vector table by the trigger from the trigger producing part 16. Wile referring to the selected differential vector table, local decoding is performed. Decoded values are supplied to a candidate estimating part 5, which determines transmission picture elements from candidates.</p> |
