PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the inclination of a rotary head cylinder smaller, to diminish a range enclosed by a tape after drawing out of the tape and to decrease the number of tape guide members for drawing out the tape with a magnetic recording and reproducing device which records and reproduces signals by winding the tape around the rotary head cylinder at a prescribed angle. SOLUTION: The arrangement of respective perpendicular posts and respective inclined posts which are the tape guide members and the winding tangents of the respective posts and the tapes are adequately set, by which the small-sized and simple magnetic recording and reproducing device is obtained.
