PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording format of an optical disk with which a crosstalk between information recording layers of a double layer recording medium is decreased and the decrease in a user data volume is alleviated. SOLUTION: On the optical disk, a header region is deployed in a disconnected region on a groove track and identification information by prepit is recorded. A header region is formed along the track with an approximately constant interval D (mm), and an arbitrary one turn of the track in the disk has a length of M×D+α(mm) or M×D-α(mm) (M: positive integer,α: positive real number, not zero). Further, the prepit header in the header region on which the identification information is recorded is divided into two parts and disposed between divided prepit headers on adjacent tracks.
