PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail transmission system that can overcome the drawback of electronic mail that a sender cannot recognize whether or not a recipient of the electronic mail has read it, resulting that the electronic mail cannot be used as urgent and/or important communication means although the electronic mail has various convenient features. SOLUTION: In order to attain the purpose, the system has a function of sending electronic mail, a function of storing and displaying transmitted electronic mail, a function of obtaining a telephone number of a phone call from a transmission destination by using a caller number notice function when the transmission destination sends the phone call, and a function of being able to identify whether or not the respectively destination confirms the electronic mail on the basis of the electronic mail and the information of the telephone number. The mail sender can recognize whether or not the recipient rightly reads the transmitted mail through a simple operation of making the phone call to a determined telephone number by the recipient of the mail after the recipient of the mail reads the mail.
