PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commutator of a dynamo-electric machine which can suppress damages given to resin of an insulator, when magnet wires are connected by fusing. SOLUTION: A commutator 8 has an approximately cylindrical insulator 12 made of resin and a plurality of segments 13, arranged on the outer circumference of the insulator 12. Protrusions for holding the insulator 12 are provided in the axial direction on the inner surfaces of the segments 13 and connection tabs 13c, to which magnet wires 14 are connected by fusing are provided on the ends of the segments 13 on the sides of surfaces brought into slide contact with brushes. The circumferential width of the segment 13 near the connection tab 13c is made narrower than the width of the brush slide contact part 13a of the segment 13. A protrusion 13d is formed, so as to avoid the narrow parts 13b near the connection tab 13c.
