PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small and rotation-symmetrical horn antenna unit which generates a desired amount of high-order mode over a wide frequency range with a small amount of cross polarized wave generation concerning the horn antenna unit to be used for an antenna unit for a radar or radio communication and its first radiation unit, etc. SOLUTION: The radio wave of a TE11 mode excited in a radio wave input part 1 is partially converted into the radio wave of the high-order mode by a waveguide part 5. Since the inclination of the intersection line S of the waveguide part 5 is not fixed but continuously changed, the high-order mode such as a TM11 mode and a TE12 mode is continuously excited in all over the axis Z direction of the waveguide part 5. In this case, the shape of the intersection line S is fixed to permit amplitude and a phase which are the generation amount of the high-order mode such as the TM11 mode generated in the waveguide part 5 to be desired values.
