PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial or a polar anisotropic sintered magnet without any cracks and crasing, and to utilize R2 T14 B-based rare earth magnet waste effectively. SOLUTION: In an R2 T14 B-based rare earth sintered magnet (R: at least one type of rare earth element mainly made of Nd or Pr, T: at least one type of transition metal element mainly made of Fe, or Fe and Co), magnet waste of the sintered body of an R2 T14 B-based rare earth magnet or the machining scrap and the like is used as the entire or partial feed material alloy, the magnet waste is crushed and is formed and sintered in a magnetic field to form a sintered body whose total content of oxygen and carbon is 0.5-4.0 wt.% in the manufacturing method of the radical or polar anisotropic sintered magnet. Preferably, crushing is made after impurity constituents for damaging magnetic characteristics in the magnet waste are reduced or removed.
