PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron gun for a cathode-ray tube capable of reducing a dispersion in performance among products caused by machining errors. SOLUTION: The electron gun for a cathode-ray tube includes cathodes 1, 2 and 3, a control electrode 4, an electron-flow extraction electrode 5, a focusing electrode 6, and an anode 7. The electron-flow extraction electrode 5 has first, second and third electron beam holes 11, 12 and 13 arranged in a line. The side of the focusing electrode 6 opposite to the electron-flow extraction electrode 5 has fourth, fifth and sixth electron beam holes 21, 22 and 23 arranged to face the first, second, and third electron beam holes 11, 12 and 13, respectively. The fourth and sixth electron beam holes 21 and 23 in the focusing electrode 6 are shaped to connect the sides of the straight lines of semicircular parts 21b and 23b to one side of each of square parts 21a and 23a, with the square parts 21a and 23a disposed outside and the semicircular parts 21b and 23b inside.
