PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorbing plate material which is suitable for noise prevention of a cogeneration system and has large acoustic absorptivity. SOLUTION: The sound absorbing plate material is constituted by packing hollow interior space of a box-shaped base body with an internal core material of porous columnar structure having a large number of void parts till a base body rear surface part and applying a glass cloth cover at least at a front face part of the base body.
