PURPOSE: A recording and reproducing device is provided to easily adjust the height of a guide shaft and decrease the size. CONSTITUTION: A guide shaft(26) includes notch parts(26a) at both ends. The notch parts are formed to a semi-circular shape in being viewed from an axial direction and are formed with planes(26b) paralleled to the axial direction. The planes are thrust to first energizing portions(46d,46e) of a leaf spring(46). An adjusting screw(48) is screwed into a thread hole(26c) penetrating the planes. A combining device of the adjusting screw adjusts the height for both ends of the guide shaft. Therefore, the adjusting screw is screw-inserted into the thread hole of the guide shaft and a recording and reproducing device charges a smaller installation space and is downsized.
