PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brushless motor drive control unit, that can effectively inhibit the generation of torque variation and noise due to current variation, regardless of the rotational speed of a motor, and construct a low-noise electric power steering apparatus having improved steering feeling, when applied as the drive control unit of the assist brushless motor of the electric power steering apparatus. SOLUTION: The brushless motor drive control unit, having a plurality of excitation phases, comprises an excitation phase current command signal generation means for generating an excitation phase current command signal for each excitation phase, and an excitation current control means for controlling an excitation current for each excitation phase by current feed back control, based on the excitation phase current command signal, which is generated by the excitation phase current command signal generating means. The excitation phase current command signal generating means generates the excitation phase current command signal of a commutation phase, so that the total value of the excitation current of the bi-phase commutation phase is equal to motor current command signal in commutation. |
