PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass frit firing method allowing formation of PDP(plasma display panel) barrier ribs having a low dielectric constant and unlikely to generate a problem such as a drop of the brightness of the plasma display panel. SOLUTION: The method is to fire glass frit containing glass power whose softening point lies not more than 620 deg.C, wherein the pressure P of the atmosphere in which the firing is conducted is over 10<4> Pa while the water content of the atmosphere is 2.0 g/m<3> or less.
