PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery having a pressure releasing valve acting at the specified pressure without being influenced by the battery deformation caused by pressure increase inside a battery. SOLUTION: This sealed battery has the pressure releasing valve for releasing pressure inside the battery on a cover. A groove is installed at certain intervals from a thin part in at least one part in the outer circumference of the thin part, which breaks in increase in pressure, constituting the pressure releasing valve, on the surface facing the inner surface of a battery can of the cover.
