A cuvette and wedge shaped spacer and a method of producing the spacer for spectrometric analysis

A cuvette for spectrometric analysis has two opposing windows (73, 76) made of a material transparent to the light of the waveband used for the analysis. The windows define a limited light path of a light beam passing through a cavity inside the cuvette. A wedge shaped spacer (81) is inserted between the two windows (73, 76), the wedge shape creating non- parallel window surfaces, so that the waves reflected internally in the cuvette cavity will arrive in random phases, avoiding any tendency to resonance. A metal wedge shaped spacer of this type is formed by etching.
