PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read a bar code of reservation proof, stored in a portable telephone set in reservation, when settlement is carried out and to automatically collect the price of a reserved commodity together with the telephone charge of the portable telephone set. SOLUTION: The system for commodity purchase and settlement is provided with: a means for making a reservation server 2 generate a reservation identification number, convert it into a bar code send to the portable telephone set 1, and also generate reservation detail information made to correspond to the reservation identification number and send it to a store terminal equipment 3 of a specified store when a commodity reservation is accepted from the portable telephone set 1; a means for making the store terminal 3 read a bar code displayed on the portable telephone set 1 as a reservation identification number and obtain and display corresponding reservation detail information when a customer receives the commodity; a means for making the store terminal 3 generate settlement request information for commodity payment from the reservation detail information and send it to a portable telephone connecting trader charging server 4 to request settlement; and a means for the server 4 collect the commodity price from the customer's account of the portable telephone set 1 together with the telephone charge of the portable telephone set 1.
