PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna unit having a wide band frequency characteristic and to also provide portable radio equipment. SOLUTION: A reverse F element 1 and a half wavelength element 2 and a non-power feeding element 3 are arranged in the upper end part of a bottom board 4. The reverse F element 1 and the half wavelength element 2 are constituted by one continuously-connected conductive board, the whole length (a+c) of the reverse F element 1 is set to be nearly the quarter of the wave length of an operation frequency and the whole length L of the half wavelength element 2 is set to be nearly the half of the wavelength. One end of the reverse F element 1 is grounded to the bottom board 4 at a grounding point 6 and a power feeding part 7 is drawn out from a point which is separated by distance b from the position of the grounding point 6. The non-power feeding element 3 is arranged in a gap between the reverse F element 1 and the half wavelength element 2 and the length d is set to be close to the almost quarter of the wavelength. One end of the non-power feeding element 3 is grounded to the bottom board 4 at the grounding point 8 and the other end is released.
