PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiprocessor system which can reduce the load on a master process and can miniaturize an external recording device by shortening the time required for loading of an initial operation program or information and the transfer time of a file of fault information or the like. SOLUTION: After initialization, a master processor 1 takes compressed master processor operation information stored in an external recording device 3 into an individual memory 12 in the processor itself, stores it in a designated area and decompresses this master processor operation information by using a decompressing function 11. The master processor starts the operation by decompressed master processor operation information. The master processor 1 transfers compressed slave processor operation information stored in the external recording device 3 to individual memories 22-1 and 22-2 for all slave processors 2-1 and 2-2 requiring IPL and starts the normal operation after confirming that slave processors 2-1 and 2-2 have started operations by using transferred operation information.
