FIELD: hydrogenation-dehydrogenation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: objective if invention is selective hydrogenation of olefinic double bonds present in diene/vinylbenzene copolymers. Such hydrogenation proceeds in presence of catalytic composition, which is prepared by reaction of following reactants: (i) bis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium of the general formula (C5H5)2 Ti(R)(R1), wherein R and R1, identical or different, are halogens; (ii) organometallic derivative of general formula M(R2)(R3) wherein M is zinc or magnesium and R2 and R3, identical or different, are C1-C16-alkyls; and (iii) modifier selected from aromatic hydrocarbons.
