A method for profiling an iTV user. The method comprises the iTV/ISP server 15 transmitting user-requested content information, and receiving and gathering the content information from iTV interactions at the client machines 10, correlating content-associated profile information from a rating service with the user-requested content information received through the communication channel 5, and developing a profile of the user based on the content-associated profile information correlated with the user-requested content information.
