发明名称 POROUS METAL ARTICLE, METAL COMPOSITE MATERIAL USING THE ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF
摘要 A porous metal article which has a foam structure having an average pore diameter of 500 .mu.m or less, has a skeleton comprising an alloy containing Fe and Cr as primary components, and has a structure wherein a carbide of Cr or a carbide of FeCr is uniformly dispersed in the skeleton; a metal composi te material using the porous metal article; and a method for producing the poro us metal article, which comprises preparing a slurry containing an Fe oxide powder having an average particle diameter of 5 .mu.m or less, one or more o f powders of metallic Cr, a Cr alloy and a Cr oxide, a thermoplastic resin and a diluent, as main components, applying the slurry on a resin core having a fo am structure, followed by drying, and then firing the resultant core in a non- oxidizing atmosphere, to thereby form the porous metal article. The porous metal article has excellent heat resistance, and is excellent in strength since the average pore diameter thereof is limited to 500 .mu.m or less, and is useful as a substrate for an electrode, a catalyst carrier and a filter material. A composite material of the porous metal article with an Al alloy or a Mg alloy is excellent in the resistance to abrasion and seizure, and thus useful for various machine parts.
